Kate Bukowski
Programme Manager
Kate was born and grew up in Tamaki Makaurau and Poneke. She is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Her maternal lineage is from Latvia and England and her paternal lineage if from Poland and England.
Kate started her career as a Clinician in the youth mental health and addiction sector. She then went onto Policy roles at The Salvation Army and Burnett Foundation where she gave advice to government on housing, gambling, addictions, and sexual health.
She established the Population Health Programme for ProCare and worked for five years at Auckland Hospital managing the information management strategy for Starship and Women’s Health and then Operations Management of the Regional Cancer and Blood Service.
Prior to joining CSI, Kate worked in the private sector developing a nationwide Workplace Health business for Southern Cross Healthcare and establishing their Diversity Equity and Inclusion Programme.
Kate holds a Master of Public Health, Post Graduate diplomas in Health Science and Psychosocial Studies and a Bachelor Arts in Political Science and Religions.
Kate joined CSI in 2024 as the Programme Manager where she has oversight across the department’s operations and performance. Her focus is financial planning and management, health safety and wellbeing, DEI, risk management, compliance, and reporting.
Kate is driven to make a difference in social determinants through managing successful programmes which influence and catalyse change so that everybody thrives in Tamaki Makaurau.
