Richard Catherall

Richard is a Lancashire lad from the UK who went on to spend most of his adult life in the Mediterranean where he met his Libyan partner. From this adopted home, he worked in international development at the confluence of human rights and entrepreneurial rights for a decade. He relocated to New Zealand in 2020 arriving mere days before the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Richard has always been passionate about equity. Studying law at university, he initially pursued social justice missions through social enterprise. In the UK, he pioneered public service partnerships and was an active leader in developing third sector support ecosystems. He rounded out his time in the UK in local government leadership. During this time Richard completed his MBA which focused on market shaping and became a qualified coach and mentor.
Richard remains internationally engaged as an angel impact investor, with partnerships in education, migration and climate change.
