A Fair Chance For All – New Zealand Productivity Commission Inquiry
The New Zealand Productivity Commission has recently released their interim report A Fair Chance for All: Breaking the cycle of persistent disadvantage.
The report focuses on the public management system and focuses on ‘upstream’ settings and how current structures of government contribute to holding inequity in place.
We’re pleased to see that the focus of the report aligns to our work to challenge and shift the fundamental assumptions, mental models and values that underpin the current public management system, and our efforts to build public sector capability to work differently.
Chapter 7, which describes inspiration for the way forward, includes examples from the Co-design Lab and TSI, including Te Tokotoru and the Early Years Implementation Learning Platform.
We were invited to participate in a webinar to give feedback on the report and what we’d like to see more of in the final version.
