Te Taiwhanga Rangatahi, our equity-led youth design lab, launches new video and report

Te Taiwhanga Rangatahi (TTR), The Southern Initiative’s latest flagship, is a youth design and innovation lab dedicated to systems change. TTR provides a platform for south Auckland rangatahi to voice their experiences and help council, central government and the private sector to comprehend and consider young people’s perspectives to guide their future decisions.

One of the goals of TTR is to highlight the inequity when it comes to south Auckland rangatahi graduating and being represented in high-value ‘green’ career pathways, especially Māori and Pasifika. TTR has collaborated with other youth teams to organise discovery workshops. They’ve also held meetings with other groups such as Hugh Green Foundation, Te Whatu Ora and Eke Panuku to share their purpose and discuss more efficient solutions in engaging young south Aucklanders in employment, education and environmental sustainability kaupapa.

TTR have launched and published a report and video to tell the story, approach and impact of this equity-led youth design lab.

The report elaborates on the issues that south Auckland and its youth are experiencing, demonstrating how this can influence future systems.

Come and meet the TTR team through their video to learn about their approach and the space they have created to truly value rangatahi voice.
